STUDIES

Efficacy of Buprenorphine and Extended-Release Naltrexone Combination for Relapse Prevention in Opioid Use Disorder (COMBO)

Location: Avery Road Treatment Center, Rockville

This study is for adults aged 18-65 who have opioid use disorder and are interested in treatment with extended-release naltrexone (Vivitrol). It tests whether an additional medication (buprenorphine) helps people stay connected to treatment. If you are an adult with opioid addiction and are considering Vivitrol, reach out to see if you qualify!

Extended-Release Naltrexone and Monthly Extended-Release Buprenorphine for Cocaine Use Disorder (CURB-2)

Location: Mountain Manor, Baltimore

This study is for adults 18-65 who have cocaine/crack use disorder and are interested in reducing or stopping their use. It tests whether a combination of two FDA approved medications improve treatment outcomes. If you are an adult with cocaine addiction and are considering reducing your use, reach out to see if you qualify!

Optimizing Retention, Duration, and Discontinuation Strategies for Opioid Use Disorder Pharmacotherapy (RDD)

Location: Mountain Manor, Baltimore 

 

This study is for adults 18+ who use opioids on a regular basis. It tests strategies, including medications, to help patients with opioid use disorder improve outcomes.  If you are an adult with an opioid addiction and are able to come participate in research on improving outcomes for opioid use disorder, reach out to see if you are eligible!

 

The study lasts for up to 2 years and provides compensation for study-related visits.

Youth Opioid Recovery Support (YORS) Intervention

Location: Mountain Manor, Baltimore

This study is for young adults (ages 18-28
) with opioid use disorder.

The study tests an intervention that combines:
- Home delivery of monthly injectable extended-release medications, either XR-
naltrexone (Vivitrol TM ) or XR-buprenorphine (Sublocade TM )
- Family involvement
- Assertive outreach from the treatment team
- Incentive pay
ments (contingency management) for getting medication doses
