Mountain Manor at Emmitsburg has served the residents of Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Virginia and the District of Columbia for forty years. The facility offers medium to high intensity adult residential substance abuse treatment services based upon the 12-step model. Services include medical, assessment, detoxification, an education and relapse prevention curriculum and individual, group and family counseling.

Psychiatric support and care is offered for the dually diagnosed patient. The facility also offers specialized women’s programming. The average length of stay is 16 days and funding is accessible through a variety of 3rd party insurance and government contracts.

Safe Harbor Women and Children’s Program - Emmitsburg

Safe Harbor is a residential program for pregnant and post-partum substance abusing women who enter treatment with their children and infants, thus eliminating a major obstacle to treatment. Services offered include a nursery, child care, after-school tutoring, parenting classes, vocational preparation and a step-down transition track that leads to community integration. Potomac Healthcare Foundation, the 501(c) (3) affiliate of Mountain Manor, operates Safe Harbor.

New Horizons Co-Occurring Residential Program - Emmitsburg

New Horizons is a long-term residential treatment program for justice system involved men and women with substance abuse and emotional issues. This program is operated by Potomac Healthcare Foundation and has successfully treated several hundred individuals.

This 60-bed adult residential substance abuse treatment center contains both detoxification and short-term residential rehab tracks. Avery Road is managed under contract from the Montgomery County Dept. of Health and Human Services and provides the only non-hospital detox and residential substance abuse programs in Montgomery County.

The Shoemaker Center is a 40 bed facility offering non-hospital based detoxification and intensive inpatient treatment for drug and alcohol addicted adults.  The program is managed by Maryland Treatment Centers under contract with the Carroll County Health Department and serves residents of Carroll County, Howard County, Frederick County, Baltimore County and Harford County.
